John Small is a vice president and portfolio manager for American Century Investments®, a premier investment manager headquartered in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Small joined American Century Investments in 1991 as the director and chief pilot of the company's flight department. Previously, he was the chief B-2 test pilot for the U.S. Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base. He also has served as a space plans officer for the Air Force Space Command, and an assistant professor at the United States Air Force Academy.
Mr. Small, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, has won the Mervin E. Gross Award for academics from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
Mr. Small holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from Rockford College, a master's degree in engineering physics and laser optics from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a master's degree in business administration from Baker University. He is a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots.
