Be All In on the Things that Matter

Your financial journey means the world to you—and to us. Our commitment to your future and to the greater good has a long history.

Our founder envisioned a different kind of investment company. When James E. Stowers, Jr. started Twentieth Century (later to become American Century Investments) in 1958, his dream was to offer investors like you only the best quality products and services.

If we make others successful, we in turn will be successful.

James E. Stowers, Jr., founder of American Century Investments®

As the company grew, Jim knew he wanted to do even more—to give back something more valuable than money to the people who had made American Century Investments' success possible.

Motivated by his and his wife Virginia's experience with cancer, they founded the Stowers Institute for Medical Research. They created a $2 billion endowment for the Institute, including a 40 percent equity ownership stake in American Century Investments.

Since 2000, the company has distributed $1.6 billion in dividends to the Institute, which has become a world-class biomedical research organization focused on unlocking the secrets to life-threatening diseases, like cancer.

Building a Strong Company and Community, One Dollar at a Time

American Century Investments' employees carry on Jim's vision for the company. While our professional goal is to provide superior service and investment results to our clients, that spirit of service extends to our personal lives, too.

We're proud to support our employees' active engagement in their communities. Through our Dollars for Donors program, we recognize and matches employees' volunteer time and financial contributions. Since 2013, the American Century Investments Foundation has given more than $6 million in grants to our employees' favorite causes and community organizations.*

I get up every workday and smile because I know I work for a greater cause for all humankind. And it shows in our client interactions every day.

Heather Gumm, client operations

Invested in Your Future

With every call, every dream and every dollar saved, your priorities are our priorities. For more than 60 years, we've been dedicated to making a difference in all people's lives. It started with our founder's passion and still drives us today as we help you save for college, retirement or any other life goal.

So dream big for your future, and we'll take it from there.
