- Personal Trust
An individual account is for general investment purposes and is owned by one person. Individual accounts are usually taxable.
A joint account is for general investment purposes and has two or more owners. The account is owned equally by all owners and is usually taxable. A joint account is designated as "Joint with Rights of Survivorship."
A personal trust account is for those who have established a grantor-type, revocable or living trust with their financial or legal advisors, and choose to include an American Century Investments® mutual fund as part of the trust's assets. Trust accounts are taxable.
