My Story - Joseph Wright, Systems Specialist Senior
I was looking for an internship opportunity that provided both valuable work experience and gave me a glimpse into what a full-time position would feel like. American Century Investments offered an experience I could take back to the classroom and carry to a future full-time position.
As an intern, I was faced with real- world business scenarios every day of the program; contributing to a broad range of deliverables, from technical to non-technical, that required critical thinking, technical expertise, and strong communication skills.
Even though the focus of the program is technical, I was encouraged to learn how the business operates outside of information technology. American Century Investments is focused on investment management, so it was important to understand how we leverage technology to enhance business operations like research, portfolio management, and trading.
I was particularly impressed, and continue to be, with the mentorship and leadership invested in the IT Internship Program. The company values career growth and provided me with the essential tools to reach beyond my potential.
