Watson Links and American Century Investments Announce Golf Mentoring Initiative
Watson Links, the youth golf mentoring organization founded by golf legend Tom Watson, is proud to announce American Century Investments as host of the American Century Swing Series driven by Watson Links. The series will be held in five cities through July 11.
The American Century Swing Series is a golf mentoring initiative providing dozens of junior golfers with free, on-course play alongside an adult golf mentor. American Century associates will serve as mentors in Connecticut, Dallas, Kansas City, New Jersey, and Santa Clara. Golf mentors are positive role models who help pave the way for positivity and fun for young players of all skill levels. Through these mentor-driven rounds American Century associates will help build player confidence that goes far beyond the game.
“Golf has the power to shape character and create connections that last a lifetime,” said Tom Watson, eight-time major champion and founder of Watson Links. “With the help of American Century and its associates, we’re able to reach new markets and more juniors who can benefit from golf mentoring and on-course play. We’re thrilled to provide juniors the chance to experience this game and the positive impact it can have on their lives.”
Watson Links, which began in Watson’s hometown of Kansas City, is committed to driving relationships and eliminating barriers to the game—including course access, cost, and knowledge—so that more kids and teens can discover the joy and lifelong value of golf. Golf mentoring provides junior golfers with positive role models who serve as personal, on-course guides, opening new possibilities for fun!
“Investing with American Century Investments means investing in a healthier world. We are a global asset manager that directs more than 40% of profits to medical research. Our associates are inspired to make an impact beyond investing, and they are excited about their role as mentors to junior golfers through the Watson Links program,” said Erik Schneberger, chief marketing officer of American Century.
The American Century Swing Series driven by Watson Links will finish ahead of the 2025 American Century Championship , the premiere celebrity golf tournament that has raised more than $8 million for dozens of worthy causes and nonprofits. The event blends sports, entertainment, and philanthropy, drawing top athletes and celebrities to compete for charity in a nationally televised tournament that can be streamed live on Peacock (July 11-13) and NBC (July 12-13).
Beginning June 23, fans can pick their American Century Championship Fantasy Golf  team of five players from over 80 sports legends and celebrities  at www.accfantasygolf.com  for a chance to win one of four trips for two to next year’s tournament and $10,000 for a charity of their choice.
